Privacy Policy – Period Calendar & Tracker
1. Introduction
Period Calendar & Tracker (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal menstrual cycle, ovulation, and wellness tracking application designed to help you understand your reproductive health rhythms. This Privacy Policy explains transparently how information is handled when you install and use our application.
By downloading or using Period Calendar & Tracker, you agree to the collection and handling of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Local-First Data Storage Architecture
Our app does not require account creation, email registration, social login, or cloud synchronization. All data you enter into the application remains solely within the isolated sandbox storage (SharedPreferences / local SQLite storage) on your device.
Because there are no central user accounts on developer servers:
- We cannot view, access, or restore your personal logs.
- Your data is never transmitted to our servers.
- You retain 100% ownership and control over your data.
3. Information You May Record in the App
The app allows you to log personal and reproductive health details, including:
- Menstrual Cycle Information: Period start and end dates, estimated cycle duration, period flow intensity.
- Symptoms & Moods: Physical symptoms (e.g., cramps, headaches, tender breasts), moods, energy levels, personal custom notes.
- Fertility & Intimacy Data: Ovulation test kit results, sexual activity records (protected/unprotected).
- Body Vitals: Water intake, body weight, and basal body temperature.
- Reminder Settings: Custom notification times for cycle, period, and fertility reminders.
Strict Ad Isolation: None of this sensitive health or cycle data is ever accessible to advertising networks or third parties.
4. Advertising & Technical Device Identifiers
The free version of the app integrates Google AdMob to support ongoing maintenance and updates. Google AdMob may automatically collect non-sensitive technical diagnostic identifiers:
- Google Advertising ID (AAID / AD_ID)
- Device model, manufacturer, operating system version, and display language
- Coarse location inferred from IP address
- App interaction metrics and ad view telemetry
Ad Placements & Formats:
- Banner Ads: Displayed only in general non-sensitive areas (e.g., Home, Calendar, Analysis, Info, Settings). Ads are never shown within sensitive note-taking or purchase screens.
- Rewarded Video Ads: Free users may optionally choose to watch a single sponsored rewarded video ad to unlock and export a doctor-ready PDF health report.
- Ad-Free for Pro Users: Users who upgrade to Pro (Monthly or Lifetime) receive a completely ad-free experience. All ad loading and rendering SDKs are permanently deactivated when Pro status is active.
5. European Economic Area (EEA), UK & Switzerland Users (GDPR)
In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) requirements:
- Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are presented with a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) on first launch to choose between personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or managing specific vendor preferences.
- In-App Consent Management: You can review, modify, or revoke your consent preferences at any time directly inside the app by navigating to: Settings > Privacy & Security > Ad & Consent Preferences.
6. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions (Google Play Billing)
Optional Pro features (e.g., unlimited instant doctor PDF reports, advanced cycle trend history, 100% ad-free experience) are available through Google Play In-App Billing:
- All payments, credit card transactions, and renewals are handled securely by Google Play.
- We do not collect, process, or store your credit card or financial billing information.
- The app stores a local entitlement token on your device to confirm your active Pro status.
7. Medical & Health Disclaimer
Period Calendar & Tracker is strictly an informational personal tracking tool and estimation guide. It is NOT a medical device, contraceptive method, or diagnostic instrument. Cycle, ovulation, and fertile window calculations are mathematical estimations based on past entries. Always consult a licensed gynecologist or healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, pregnancy prevention, or treatment.
8. PDF Health Reports & External Sharing
The app allows you to generate a "Doctor-Ready Health Report" in PDF format containing your recorded cycle history, symptoms, and vitals. When you choose to share, email, or print this document, you are transmitting your file through external Android system share sheets or third-party email clients of your choice. We do not intercept or store your exported PDF files.
9. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
Because all health data is stored locally on your device:
- You can edit or delete individual log entries directly within the calendar and note screens.
- You can delete all stored app data at any time by going to your Android device Settings > Apps > Period Calendar & Tracker > Storage > Clear Data, or by uninstalling the application.
10. App Permissions
The app requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS(Android 13+): Used exclusively to deliver optional period and ovulation reminders scheduled by you.INTERNET&ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used for Google AdMob, Google Play Billing purchase validation, and privacy consent verification.AD_ID: Standard Google Play Services permission for advertising identifiers on Android 13+.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Used by the local notification manager to restore your reminder schedule after device restarts.
11. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, new Google Play policies, or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
